I may have to cut expenses in the near future, and one of my major expenses is renting a server capable of multiple domain names. I am thinking that I might have to switch to a server that only has one domain name, and I'm wondering if americanpoliticsforum.com is such a good choice in the long run. I want to create something more than just another politics forum.
I'm asking all of you to move with me to Politics Now!, the brainchild of Viv. It has a lot more international membership, and I feel that American politics could use a little more input from the rest of the world since we all share the same planet.
Right now the forum doesn't have the same kind of chat, but I will add it soon--and hopefully improve upon the implementation in the process. I tried to figure out a way to combine posts and members in the database, but I admit the technical difficulties eluded me, so I hope the simplest solution will be to ask you to register with the new forum. I will transfer over your current post counts, and try to transfer some of the most active threads. If you're a global moderator or admin here, you will be one at the new forum if you wish. However, we all will be joining a currently active forum with its own core membership and staff, so some of the rules and expectations may be different.
In a couple days, I will lock these forums so no new threads can be posted. I will redirect all traffic to the other forum, and perhaps soon even transfer common-nation.com to a new (cheaper) server.
