Clinton Foreign Policy

She is trying to balance all.

While preparing to give a major critique of the war in Iraq last month, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton read a draft of the speech and added a few lines of her own.

"I would also consider, as I have said before, leaving some forces in the Kurdish area to protect the fragile but real democracy and relative peace and security that has developed there," Clinton said in the final version of the speech.

It was a small but important caveat in an otherwise harsh speech about ending the war -- overshadowed by repeated promises to withdraw troops as quickly and responsibly as possible.

From the statements coming out of Turkey, that might be necessary anyway.

Although many experts said Obama was fundamentally correct that the United States would not use nuclear force in the region,

That was a stupid question to ask in the first place. The media needs to get to away from these debates. Their trip up questions are dumb as hell.

Clinton is a true politician, she answers the question as vaguely as possible , while appearing to be sincere and informed.

According to the national polls, her tactics seem to be working.

Yep, she is doing everything right. But what does that say about the voter? Uninformed, comes to my mind.

Mitt is fliping again over his statements about his sons. Why not use this guys?

Aug. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Mitt Romney, who won the Iowa Republican straw poll yesterday, said he ``misspoke'' when he suggested that his sons' work on his presidential campaign was comparable to serving in the military in Iraq.

``I misspoke,'' the former Massachusetts governor said today on ``Fox News Sunday.'' ``It's not service to the country, it's service for me, and there's just no comparison there.''

At an event in Iowa last week, Romney was asked why his adult sons hadn't enlisted in the military and responded by saying: ``One of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping me get elected because they think I'd be a great president,'' according to the Associated Press.

Considering Clinton background, I'm real surprised they haven't been able to corner her on many issues. She's proving to be good at avoiding confrontations unless she starts one.
