Clinton wants to give newborn babies $5,000

Postby JimH52 on Fri Sep 28, 2007 6:33 pm

As a tax payer, this sounds a bit frightening. Could this slide Hillary away from the middle and so far to the left that another republican wins the White House. BUSH 2.....NOOOOOOO!

Bill won because he moved to the center. Maybe Hillary needs to strongly consider that.

I think that maybe she is trying anything to get votes. This makes no sense at the tax payers will end up footing the bill for paying for other peoples kids to go to college when they have their own to worry about. maybe she needs a course in fiscal responsibility OH WAIT shes a democrat she will just raise taxes

Hi 4thefairtax. Welcome aboard.

Well, there isn't much difference having an education bond or dolling out pell grants or other student aid grants.

As for raising taxes, I prefer to raise taxes versus raising the debt ceiling .

Does Hillary realize that this could be the kiss of death for her campaign? We all are watching closely to see if her liberal side begins to come out. Well, if this ain't liberal, what is?

Can Ron Pall win the GOP nomination? I doubt it...

Perhaps the next time Bill and Hillary have one of their pillow talks, Bill can shout from his seperate bedroom and get the little lady to move back to the center?

The GOP candidates should jump all over this!

GOP has all the ammo they need to fight the Dems. The question is will they be able to use it effectively?

I have brought the $5,000 idea from Clinton up to a couple people who are staunch Democrats and they said it is hard to believe and think it might be something made up by conservative bloggers. Does anyone have additional collaboration that thisi s a Clinton proposal.

Personally, I hope it is not true. I am not a huge Clinton supporter but I don't want to see another republican in the WH in 2008. The $5,000 for all baby's could be enough to stamp HC with a big "L" on her forehead.

I CANNOT TAKE A THIRD TERM OF BUSH POLICY!

Jim, the more I read about this the more I see it is something she mentioned in passing as a thought. No where have I sent that it was a proposal, just something to consider.

I agree about the third term thing, but as I have said on my blog, no matter which of the ones in the running is nominated, I do not see a change from the norm and Bush crap seems gto be the norm.

You are probably right but mentioning it is passing could be an opening for the GOP to stamp "LIBERAL" on her forehead.

Still, after bush, that title may not be as polarizing as it was. We shall see!

Jim, I do a lot of observing of the political process and nothing tells me that anything will change with the next election. A new Pres will fly down the same road as we are on now, whether conser or liberal. Clinton has more special interest fingers in her butt than I have hairs on my head. Nothing about her leads me to believe she would change much in Washington.

Maybe a different direction in favoritism

Postby JimH52 on Sat Oct 06, 2007 12:33 pm

I don't doubt that you are right. Getting rid of bush and all the corporate CEOs he is now feeding will be a victory.

You know. I have tried on several occasions to try to like the guy and each time that I do he does something else stupid. I even voted for his dad when he ran against Bill the first time. I figured he was moderate and he won the gulf war and I also figured Bill would be impeached his first term. I guess I was a term off on that one.

I see the Senate moving further in the Demo direction in 2008. It is going to be nearly impossible for the GOP to hold the WH, after 8 years of bush, but it could happen.

You are right! Most polls I watch say that the Dems will win a bunch of stuff, because the people do not like their reps or the repubs in the WH. But keep in mind, that even the Dems will owe something to their CEO contributors and that is why I say little will change. YThere will be a bit more emphasis on domestic programs, but the rest will be business as usual.

Okay, now I heard on CNN that Hillary has abandoned her idea about $2,000 for newborns. She keeps flipping like this we will have to call her Romney or something...?

Why didn't the GOP jump all over this? I don't get it?

Jim, I do a lot of reading, believe they tried but like I said it was a thought not a proposal so they really could not make too much out of it.
