They seem to be realizing that it may be necessary to stop all the bs rhetoric and seek a possible ceasefire.

Israel Radio says Hamas is drafting terms for a truce and trying to get other Palestinian factions to halt rocket attacks on Israel. Hamas did not comment on the report, but it first offered a truce earlier this week after Israeli air strikes killed 13 Palestinian militants, including two top commanders of the Islamic Jihad group.

Israel says Hamas is only seeking a cease-fire, because it is taking a beating from the army.

"Hamas is a hostile entity, so we are not going to relate to any of Hamas' proposals," said Defense Ministry official David Hacham.

Even if they did, Israel is making it more and more difficult.

Wide areas in the Gaza Strip plunged into darkness Sunday evening, as a local power plant was forced to shut down its turbines after Israel stopped fuel supply into the Strip. Many Gazans now fear that a massive humanitarian crisis is imminent, despite Israel's claims that 70% of power supply is still provided by an Israeli plant.

Hospitals in the Strip have already announced the cancellation of all operations scheduled for the coming days. Health officials are worried that electrical medical equipment, such as dialysis machines and respirators, would collapse. According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, 10 minutes without electricity could lead to the death of dozens of patients.

I think Hamas wants the occupation of Palestine by Israel to stop.

Israel is cutting off their food supply and their electricty both. I look for the situation to go dowhill fast unless someone steps in to calm both sides down.

The more that Israel acts, the more Hamas reacts--it can only continue. It has been a vicious cycle for 50+ years, meetings will not bring peace, someone somewhere has to act.

Let's just hope that whatever happens there doesn't affect us too much. That's about all we can do.

Kizz, as long as the US is a staunch supporter of Israel, we will be involved one way or the other.

That's what I'm thinking too. I can't see Hamas throwing the towel in that easily.
