Discuss economic theory and policy here.

Americans haven't built a decent car since the 70's. They used to be known for their quality and durability. Not anymore. The whole American auto industry went to crap in 1980. They've gotten a little better since then, but not much.

I bet it'll break $200 soon, I'd say within the next 6 months.

The gas is getting more expensive even here. But the Dollar is also falling rapidly. I guess if the market would not use the Dollar to value oil it might not look that extreme. Not to long ago 1 € was about 1,2 $. Now you get 1,55 $ for each Euro.
Petty much everything is cheaper in the US than here.

Just wanted to let you guys know that the fuel price in Europe has gone higher again. It should peak during July at 9.4 $ for a gallon of fuel.

Since in America the price of fuel is the 2nd biggest concern, I was wandering if you guys are catching up with our prices. US price of fuel used to be always about 40 to 50 % of our price.

How much do you guys have to pay nowadays?

I've seen it around $3.90 to $4.00 where I am at in Kentucky. I think $4 is about the average nationwide.

Since it’s so cheap in the US and you are complaining so much about those gas-prices, I was wondering how much you guy’s drive averagely. Because if you drive at least double then we do, then I can understand the complains about those prices.

Since I am a student I don’t drive that much. So I would count myself in the low average. I probably drive somewhere about 10.000 to 12.000 miles every year. I would guess the average is at 15.000 to 20.000 miles. My father has to drive much for European standards. He makes around 30.000 miles every year.

So can you compare this to your needs? Do you make so much more than we do?

I would say that I drive about 12,000 miles a year. But then I again I don't complain about fuel prices. It was $3.69 here last time I filled up, it was $4 before the pullback in oil.
