This article explains a lot. The sheer stupidity of the people, the type of president we have, etc.
One in ten public high schools in the United States is a "dropout factory" and Texas has its share of failing schools, according to a recent study.
A "dropout factory" is a high school where no more than 60 percent of students who start as freshmen make it to senior year, says John Hopkins University education researcher Bob Balfanz.
There are about 1,700 high schools nationwide that fit that description, according to the study which was conducted by the university for the Associated Press.
The highest concentrations of dropout factories are found in big cities or impoverished rural areas in the South and Southwest.
