Hilarys Dirty Campaign

A forum to disuss the candidates and issues of the upcoming 2008 Presidential election.

Postby redstaterebel on Thu Jan 10, 2008 8:26 am

So the Hillary campaign theme has gone from "Experience" (which was BS) to "Change".

What are we expecting her to change?

Assuming changing back to Bill Clinton policies - we must ask, which policies are those? Seriously, other than raising taxes - what policies? Which policies will be different than an Obama administration?

If the democrats kill the Obama movement - don't expect the change that liberals are hoping for. In fact, liberals should push back any hope for real change until at least 2016.

If you nominate Obama - and he continues to excite and inspire people - and wins some sort of Reagan-esque blow out in the general election - it would scare the shit out of the republicans and would be an opportunity for real change in the country.

The democrats are choosing for all of us - Hillary or any republican will be 4 more years of the same shit. Electing any of them is just about degrees - slight shifts. If Obama can pull off a movement - you liberals could actually accomplish some of your goals.

Obama has taken the chance to call a truce in the negativity.

Minutes after he told voters at a Reno, Nevada, rally that his opponents were trying to “run [him] down,” Senator Barack Obama held a media availability today to declare truce with his main competitors - Senators Clinton and Edwards. But mainly Senator Clinton.

“I wanted to take the time to talk to all of you a little bit because I’ve been a little concerned about the tenor the campaign has been going over the last couple of days,” Obama said to a roomful of reporters. “I thought it would be useful for me to just air this out a little bit,” he continued.

Nice move from Obama - back to what works:

eg: Hillary is negative - classic Clinton attack and destroy your rivals and enemies. Obama is above it.

Its a good message which helped him in Iowa - and the recent race baiting by the Hillary campaign will also help Obama.

He would have a hard time convincing black voters that Hillary isn't going to be a canidate who will help them. Other than being black or looking black, Obama doesn't have much of a track record of helpiong them with their cause like the Clintons.

He'd do well to shut up about the race card.

The media wants the race thing. Why? Makes good TV. In the Nevada debates all were civil and on their message. But the media is still analyzing the comments, even though the candidates want to move beyond it.

The media hype is a big reason I don't pay a lot of attention to these types of comments. They are looking for any kind of scraps to make a headline out of.

I would have to ask - what has Hillary done for black people?
What about Bill?

Any specific legislation or policies?

The lack of a record will come up for either Obama or Hillary in the general elections.
Seriously - for all the talk about Obama's meager experience - does anyone have ANY accomplishement that Hillary can point to?

as first lady?
as a senator?
as a lawyer in Arkansas?

I think the "WHY" - is because regardless of what Hillary says, the Clinton Camp is making it about race -

And why the democrats aren't mad about it - is the story.

Seriously - the democrats will all the talk of civil rights and being for black people - it looks like a bunch of BS when they keep them out of big jobs - or the biggest job.

ALSO:

Will the democrats finally shut up about republicans disenfranchising voters ?

- The Clintons go to court in Nevada to stop voting at the casinos (poor culinary workers votes)
- The DNC (Clintons & Dean) disenfranchise Florida and Michigan democrats by stripping their delegates.

I don't think they can complain anymore.

Perception is everything and the Clintons are perceived as Afro-American friendly.

Your right CHUQ. The black voters seem to relate to the Clintons. Most of it seem to start when Bill picked his black cabinet members.
