A forum to disuss the candidates and issues of the upcoming 2008 Presidential election.

South Carolina

Good news for Obama last night.

Not just the win - but the news coverage of the margin. The story last night was "thumpin" "blow out" etc.
That line of reporting will hold for the Sunday shows this morning and hopefully through next week.

If the press continues to ignore Florida (though Hillary would like it to count as a win) - the press and the analysis of the exit polling should significantly help Obama on Feb 5th. Of course, I'm very pleased.

Also
I think this will discussed on every talk show for a solid week:

Said Bill Clinton today in Columbia, SC: "Jesse Jackson won South Carolina in '84 and '88. Jackson ran a good campaign. And Obama ran a good campaign here."

This was in response to a question about Obama saying it "took two people to beat him." Jackson had not been mentioned.

Boy, I can't understand why anyone would think the Clintons are running a race-baiting campaign to paint Obama as "the black candidate."

I think this will get a lot of press as well:

A President Like My Father
By Caroline Kennedy

OVER the years, I’ve been deeply moved by the people who’ve told me they wished they could feel inspired and hopeful about America the way people did when my father was president. This sense is even more profound today. That is why I am supporting a presidential candidate in the Democratic primaries, Barack Obama.
