This meeting of the capitlist minds have issued a statement on Iraq. This oughta be good!

-- An international conference on Iraq ended here on Saturday with participating parties pledging support to the Iraqi government and people's efforts to restore permanent peace, stability and prosperity as well as international cooperation against terrorism.

The participants agreed in a 23-point communique ending the conference to contribute to the Iraqis' efforts to restore permanent peace, stability and prosperity in their country through invigoration of the existing national reconciliation dialogue, in combating terrorism, strengthening the rule of law and widening participation in the political process.

Meeting is about the only they all known how to really do. An action of some sort seems to be out of the question.

Well, it seems to be the same old song and dance to me. It difficult to put much hope in their statements when it's a given that nothing much ever comes of these meetings.

The US has this amazing thing called a meeting. They think that a meeting to decide parameters will cease all problems. I agree that diplomacy is necessary, but the US wants to talk about the shape of the table not the issues.
