Let see, they make how much off their massive oil resources and yet the people have nothing to show for it. So it is about power and cash! Maybe MEND has a good point in their fight with the Nigerian govt.

NIGERIA was conspicuously missing among the first 35 countries in a 48-nation survey of human development in Africa, analysed by Harvard University academics.

Two Island states of Mauritius and Seychelles came tops as the "best governed" African countries, with Botswana and Cape Verde in third and fourth positions, respectively.

Self-acclaimed "Giant of Africa" Nigeria was listed in 37th position behind even Zimbabwe (31), Uganda (25) and Rwanda (1Cool.

South Africa (5th) Ghana (8th) and Senegal (9th) among others, shone brightly in the ratings which saw Nigeria grouped among such lowly-rated nations as Somalia (4Cool, Congo-DR (47), Sudan (45) and Angola (42).
