He will propose the elimination. Thoughts?

WASHINGTON, Oct. 1 — Senator Barack Obama will propose on Tuesday setting a goal of eliminating all nuclear weapons in the world, saying the United States should greatly reduce its stockpiles to lower the threat of nuclear terrorism, aides say.

In a speech at DePaul University in Chicago, Mr. Obama will add his voice to a plan endorsed earlier this year by a bipartisan group of former government officials from the cold war era who say the United States must begin building a global consensus to reverse a reliance on nuclear weapons that have become “increasingly hazardous and decreasingly effective.”

Why would he even suggest such a thing. It's an impossible task. IMO.

Tumble, who knows? But why does he not propose this stuff in a debate where there is a forum? Instead he looks like a coward by releasing sh*t to the media and then maybe having to defend it a little later, when he can get his little duckys in a row.

He's looking for an angle to draw support but saying he has a goal of eliminating all nuclear weapons in the world just sounds rediculous. I doubt he can even reduce the numbers.

His proposal is just a way to get some attention. As I have said on my blogs, he needs to stop being the shy nice one. Nice wins nothing in the end. He needs to attack Hilary and do it soon. Show the people why he would be the best candidate to support. So far I have not seen anything that impresses me.

IMO, I think he can save his campaign but he needs to be more aggressive in the face to face forums.

His problem seems to be that unless he has notes to go by he isn't great at going it unrehearsed.

Sorry to say, he is an amatuer when it comes to national politics. He can change that, but if he plans on it he had better start the car now.

Well, I don't see him gaining much ground by bringing up the nuclear issue. They have become a fact of life and those who have them won't give them up. Even he should realize that.

Obama seems to be wanting to give a new, kinder face to politics. He apparently does not realize that if by some chance he gets the nomination, he will play ball by the special interest rules.
