Because of your war on drugs, folks are suffering in pain while you and your henchmen stand back and do nothing about setting the record straight about prescription drug abuse. God forbid you would go out there in front of a microphone and tell the country that the majority of prescription drug abuse isn't coming from the folks it was meant for but the dumbasses that aren't even in pain.

WASHINGTON - The death of Heath Ledger prompted the White House to postpone President Bush's event Wednesday promoting an ad campaign aimed at preventing prescription drug abuse.

Ledger, 28, who was nominated for an Oscar for "Brokeback Mountain," was found dead Tuesday in his New York apartment. There were sleeping pills near him, but the cause of his death remains under investigation.

The president was to make a statement in the Roosevelt Room on the Office of National Drug Control Policy's television advertisement about preventing prescription drug abuse. A federally financed study released in December at the White House showed illicit drug use by teens continued to gradually decline overall this year, but the use of prescription painkillers remained popular among young people.

The war on drugs should be more of a medical issue, not a criminal one. People should be able to get decent free help that isn't religious (religious like NA or AA or CA--they all require a belief in a higher power).

It seems our money and attention would be better spent finding something for young people to do.

I agree but because of he's making this pitch for the war on drugs, outreach programs won't get necessary funding. IMO.

Look and the faith based programs he made the push for. To me a faith basaed outreach program would be as effective as the catch and release program they have now.
