No Food For Fat People

Postby CHUQ on Wed Feb 06, 2008 4:34 am

At the present meeting of Mississippi legislature they are considering a bill, #HB282, which would make it illegal to serve certain foods to overweight people. Now somewhere we must draw a line and stop meddling in other people's lives.

I cannot believe that there is NO comments on this legislation. Apparently I am the only person that thinks this is totally uncalled for.

It's not only uncalled for it's discrimination. Sounds dumb as hell to me.

Absolute insanity.

According to that artile, it's supposedly "to raise awareness"--but I think not. I think this is as bad as that town that made B.O. a criminal offense.

Very strange how there aren't any comments on this. I'll have to agree with you Chuq.

Sorry CHUQ. I didn't comment because it was so surreal my brain couldn't process it. I can't imagine the bill passing. Do you know who drafted and sponsored it?

Being a bit of a fatty myself I think that I would object if I was refused service at a takeaway because of what I had ordered.

If I want to eat fat unhealthy food then thats my choice.
I wonder how the person who proposed this legislation would feel if WE decided that the type of car that he drove was dangerous for pedestrians and banned that model.
We could go on and on

if large folks did not impact the insurance industries bottom line rest assured it would be a non issue outside of the just plain nasty set---with the percentage of the large ranging from 56-74.1 (depending on the source), the ins co.s are just crapping their pants waiting for all the heart attacks, strokes, and diabetes to kick in----HEY!---we're all destined to die, we all gotta die of something, and its pretty much a universal condition. Large folks seem to be the last bastion of the "Every One Deserves To Hear My Asshole Opinion" set to declare their petty little world view, and if you were to substitute any ethnicity for the f word, advocates would be streaming out of the ether to defend and decry the idiocy...but hey, we're just fatties, so who cares....

Stepping on our consitutional freedoms isnt enough now, huh? Now they're trying to take away basic human rights. Wow.

If I want to give myself a heart attack by eating a tripple cheese burger with bacon & topped with a slice of ham and a fried egg, that's MY business! ;)
