Historical Questions for the American Political Quagmire

Postby Stamblerd on Mon Mar 10, 2008 1:21 am

Have you ever wondered why America is in such a political mess?

Do you think that America's historical problems have been resolved?

What if it were true that America cannot move forward until it addresses ALL of its past?

Slavery...slaughter of the Native Americans...Deforestation...Pollution and Industrialization...Atom Bomb...Internment Camps...Imperialism...The Civil War...Taking land from Mexico...Monetary Assistance from France during the American Revolution...

I think it has more to do with your political "system"
The way that you vote for sherrif and D.A. amuses me the most. I would love to be a drug rich criminal in a small community where I could buy the sherrif AND the District Attorney and have as many guns as I wanted. What a criminal heaven that would be. Wait, hold on, doesnt that describe The U.S.A??????

The fact that money can buy you just about anything is definitely a big problem.

There is only one way to save the US and it is a word that few want to use.

That word wouldn't be "revolution" would it?

You've already had one of those where you ditched the Westminster system of government (one of the worlds best) and instituted your own strange system of government that is riddled with corruption.

hey there killer---you aussies aint no angels either--as a matter of fact, who IS an angel? self interest, greed and shortsightedness has armed the bullies that make up various niches of the international community, and history has shown this again and again regardless of nation---this is an evolutionary problem if you ask me----there are those who are more comfy in their wolfs clothing, and tend to view the rest of us as sheep----easily manipulated, and where bs cant take em, they are more than willing to use violence and intimidation to make the point-----they say there's good and evil in everyone, that which one will win out depends on which one is fed, and hope springs eternal----there is also the truth that man is a noble killer, and has been since we devised a funeral ritual----too bad we havent grown as fast as our technology has---we may have found a way out of this mess long ago, and been much the better for it

You can sat that again, but this forum is about American politics.

In Australian politics we have The Liberal Party which is roughly like your Republican Party and The Labor Party about the same as The Democrats.

The Liberals have the economic flair and Labor has the social flair. So in an ideal world we should have The Liberals in for two terms (8 years) and Labor for one term. That way Labor could fix all the social issues in their term and royally f@#$% the economy as they usually do and then the Liberals come in and spend 2 terms fixing the economy but royally f@#$ing the social structure like they usually do. Then back to Labor etc.

Sounds easy to me.
