US To Attack Iran In 6 Months

Iraq and Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Pakistan and more.

Postby cyber_warfare_hq on Mon Jun 30, 2008 3:45 am

THESE PEOPLE SEEM TO THINK THAT WAR IS SOMETHING YOU DECLARE ON A WHIM OR WHEN YOU ARE MADE. RIGHT NOW, THERE IS MORE CONFLICT IN THIS WORLD THAN IMAGINABLE AND NOT ONE OF THEM HAS BEEN FINISHED OR CONCLUDED, YET THE LIST OF NEW WARS GROW BIGGER.

DEPRESSING.

Don't you think you'd better sort out the mess you've created in the 'tiny' country of Iraq (not to mention the forgotten country of Afghanistan) before you embark on another mission to disaster in a 'massive' country like Iran?
The country mass of Iran is 3, possibly 4 times the size of Iraq with 5 times as many citizens.
If you think it would be an easy task, then go ahead.
Do you know what I think?
I think if the USA was stupid enough to invade Iran, it would have been done by now!!
And while we're on the subject of invasion, what would be the grounds to such an invasion?
If memory serves me correct, Saddam was supposed to possess a few WMD's, but we all know how true that was, don't we?
So, based on another US theory more millions would have to die, is that right?
Iran hold's no threat to you, me or anyone else. The only threat they hold is to their own people!
America doesn't like someone if they refuse to go America's way, so for that I would like to shake Mr Ahmadinejad's hand (a feat I also came close to a few week's ago when I was in Iran on holiday and learned that he was lecturing down the road from the Golestan Palace where I was at the time - but there you go....)
I don't like the guy, for personal reason's, but I wouldn't call him half the names that are directed his way by American tongues!!!

There will be NO war with Iran. If Bush or anyone else is crazy enough to try it, then it will be bigger and bloodier than WWII.[/font]

Ummm...good post. Welcome to the forum?

I agree. Iran is allied with some powerful countries, very close to Russia who may supply arms at the least. Close to other Middle Eastern countries who might decide to stand up. Close to Venezuela, not a concern in military terms but an oil-producer with power and leverage from that.

Plus there is no support from the populace of most European countries for the Iraq war. There might be real opposition over Iran.

I am fascinated by your stated reasons for not invading Iran.
Here's a few more:
Iran is a sovereign nation.
You can't invade someone just because America doesn't like them.
It is immoral.

August 2007 was more than 6 months ago. Looks like they were wrong. Moreover, a 3 week war has been waged in the other direction:

Iran's attack defeats west - In the end the west is desperately happy to have oil prices start crawling back towards affordability, and China is just as glad - so let's face it - nobody with power can touch Iran unless they want their economy destroyed by Iran first.

http://www.politicsdebate.co.uk/politics35.html

Three weeks of terrifying "economic sanctions" by Iran on the west, using the power of spin, PR and global media fanaticism, have left most enemies of Iran reeling, still bleeding and in pain from the financial repercussions of oil prices climbing steadily towards infinity.

Even now the price isn't coming down in any real sense, it's just deflating a bit at its new high level. Even China, in full economic bloom, suffered from the oil price hike.

I'd say that the time frame is anyones guess, I posted an article months ago that said it would be on by August, heh.

The invasion will happen though, whether it's the U.S. or Israel that starts tactical bombing, it is for sure that full fledged war will escalate.

Our ground forces are too thin already, and Iran is much more populous and expansive than Iraq. Israel has no ground forces really and will resort to nukes should the need arise.

We don't need more war!

Invading Iraq was already a huge mistake of hubris by Bush. I wouldn't put it past that douchebag to start yet another unwinnable war and dump it on the next president. I sincerely hope Israel bombs out any nuclear capability they have so Bush can't use that as an excuse. We should have secured the Iranian border with US Marines right off the bat if there was ever going to be hope in Iraq. Did I mention that Bush is a douchebag? :picknose:
