Is George W Bush a War Criminal?

Postby killerbee on Fri Jul 25, 2008 2:15 am

This is what Allen Keller of Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) told a briefing in the US House of Representatives Thursday.

"We urge that a full investigation in the form of an independent non-partisan commission that has access to all documents and has subpoena power to obtain relevant documents as well as the testimony of officials. There must be accountability... accountability must include prosecuting individuals who have committed war crimes, whatever their place in the chain of command,"

The doctors described graphically how detainees held at the US naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and in Iraq and Afghanistan had been subjected to "torture and abuse while in US custody that was sadly second to none."

The ordeals suffered by the 11 detainees, all of whom have been released without charge, were outlined in a report compiled by PHR and released three weeks ago.

Keller told how one former Guantanamo prisoner who was interviewed for the report was beaten, stripped naked, subjected to intimidation by dogs, hooded, thrown against a wall and sustained electric shocks from a generator.

He also endured sexual humiliation, including an incident where "a naked woman entered the interrogation room and smeared him with what he believed to be menstrual blood."

Another prisoner was "forced to lie face-down in urine and sodomized with a broomstick," Keller said.

"As a physician and scientist who has spent much of his professional career evaluating and caring for victims of torture and abuse, I want to clearly state that torture and inhuman interrogation techniques are cruel, ineffective and can have devastating health consequences"

Bush is a war crimial and a domestic criminal. He ignores human rights, shits on the bill of rights, pisses on the constitution & then wonders why we all hate his ass.

I just wish those in Washington with the power to do so had found some balls 2-3 years ago & impeached his ass. Plenty of evidence has come to light now to make it even easier, but now nobody will bother since his term is almost up.
Whatever happened to Peace, Love & Understanding?

I say yes! He's a criminal for embellishing the intelligence so he could pursue his, Cheney's, and Rumsfeld's personal agendas in Iraq.

Like I said in another post, we should impeach Bush, his administration, and every congressman who authorized the war. Then once they are found guilty of violating the US constitution, they would be if it was a fair trial, they should all be hanged like the traitors they are. The executions should be public as well so they can serve as a warning to any other elected official who thinks they are above the law.

I can still dream.

So the general consensus is that he definitely IS a war criminal...and he should be punished so, just like he did to Saddam perhaps? both committed 'crimes against humanity' so whilst this idea is far-fetched it certainly sheds light on the irony of the situation....
....and another interesting point, if you look at the history books you will find that there is a long tradition of U.S presidents pardoning their predessor's crimes (particularly war-crimes) after coming into to office...Bush pardoned Clinton and i expect that he expects the same treatment...perhaps thats why he thinks he has the right to attack other nations without due reason (Iraq was attacked to find WMD even though the UN had sent a group in to search for these weapons and found none)...end this stupid, demeaning tradition i say!!

To suggest that Bush is a war criminal is simply rediculous. As far as the "interview" with the former Guantanamo prisoner is concerned, consider the source and the political agenda of the organization conducting the "interview."

A war criminal? I would have to have the definition of the term as it is written by the Hague.....I think he was unwise and a liar...but war criminal may be above my pay grade.
