Still I am not satisfied with the findings, IMO, there is more to this than is being told.
WASHINGTON — The Army censured a retired three-star general Tuesday for a "perfect storm of mistakes, misjudgments and a failure of leadership" after the 2004 friendly-fire death in Afghanistan of Army Ranger Pat Tillman.
Army Secretary Pete Geren asked a military review panel to decide whether Lt. Gen. Philip Kensinger, who led Army special operation forces after the Sept. 11 attacks, should also have his rank reduced.

Kensinger is just the fall guy from what I can tell. There were 9 other officers involved in this cover-up, yet he was the only one to be disiplined for it.

I believe they all got a reprimand, but he is the one that will feel the heat5! BULLSH*T!! If they all are guilty then they all should pay. They say it was not an organized cover-up. I say Bullsh*t! They were using Tillman as a recruiting tool and how would that look to newvbies?

Here is a memo that contradicts.
he text of the "P4" memo about the death of Army Ranger Pat Tillman that then-Maj. Gen. Stanley McChrystal sent on April 29, 2004, to Gen. John Abizaid, then head of U.S. Central Command; Gen. Bryan Douglas Brown, then head of the U.S. Special Operations Command; and Lt. Gen. Philip R. Kensinger, then head of the Army Special Operations Command. The Associated Press obtained and published the memo in March.

Quote: This potential finding is exacerbated by the unconfirmed but suspected reports that POTUS and the secretary of the Army might include comments about Corporal Tillman's heroism and his approved Silver Star medal in speeches currently being prepared, not knowing the specifics surrounding his death
Sounds like a PR move gone bad. They were so anxious to put a political spin to his death they tripped over themselves.

Where are the others here--this is a disaster and I would like to here from others also. I am really disappointed in the admin for usinmg this man as a recruiting tool and then to LIE about the circumstances is a CRIME!

It looks like they have their fall guy. I expect them to attempt to sweep this under the rug.

I don't hear much about these guys. They are still trying to do damage control.

Everytime I read a report about him being shot at close range; I go into a rage and hit something. There is still more to this than will be told. I am sure that some secret designation has been assigned to it.

Seems those involved will not have any record of it in their files.
SAN FRANCISCO, California (AP) -- Official reprimands issued to three high-ranking Army officers are only mildly critical of their mistakes after the friendly fire death of Pat Tillman and at times praise the officers.
The Army also said it would not include the reprimands in the officers' military records, according to documents reviewed by The Associated Press.
Tillman's direct superiors knew within hours of his April 2004 death in Afghanistan that the former football star had been killed by fellow Army Rangers, but the truth was kept from the public and Tillman's family for five weeks -- in direct violation of Army regulations.

WHY? they lied and they should be held accountable. Oh sorry, I forgot Americans do not want people held accountable for their actions. Silly me! Am I pissed? YOU BET YOUR ASS!
