Looks like the diplomacy in N. Iraq and Turkey is not holding up so well/

Duhuk, Sept 19, (VOI)- Turkish artillery shelled border regions in Duhuk province, a source from the border guard forces said on Wednesday.

"The border villages of Zakho and al-Emadiyah cities in Duhuk province were pounded late Tuesday by Turkish artillery," the source told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI) on condition of anonymity, noting that the shelling lasted until 8:00 am on Wednesday.
"More than 82 rounds hit different border regions in Duhuk," he explained.
No word was available on the damage caused by the shelling.
A local resident said that the Turkish shelling caused panic among civilians.
Duhuk is the third province within Iraq's Kurdistan region It is in the far north of Iraq with borders with Turkey. It is located 460 km north of Baghdad.

I guess the Iraq and U.S. governments think if they ignore the problem, it will go away.

I say we need to start removing our troops before we end up defending Iraq from the Turkish attack.

Hi willbevoter. Welcome.

They may end up caught in the middle of two countries. The Iranians are doing the same thing as Turkey on their border, shelling remote villages.

I think that they should remove our troops quicker because I have loved ones who were sent to Iraq. One of them is lucky to be alive. If another war breaks out I don't want us to have any part of it.

Our voice is being ignored and if it wasn't for the presidential veto we might be closer to a timetable for withdrawl. As it stands it's stay the course until we get a new president. Without the votes to override a veto nothing will change. IMO.

It's good you are going to get involved as soon as you able to vote. The more people who get involved the sooner we will see change.

I didn't start voting until I was 25. It's nice to see the up and coming generations actually interested in claiming their voting rights for a change. Maybe that's one good thing to come out of these 8 years of insanity. :)
