Clinton: Trade deals should be rejudged

Postby Tumbleweed on Mon Oct 08, 2007 8:27 pm

Looks like Clinton is looking for more union votes.

By NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton told union leaders and Iowa voters her economic leadership should be judged by how well the middle class fares — and that trade agreements should be rejudged to see if they're helping or not.

With the presidents of four unions that are supporting her in the audience, Clinton tried Monday to address one of her biggest problems with labor — her husband's signing of the North American Free Trade Agreement.

"I think it is time that we assess trade agreements every five years to make sure they're meeting their goals or to make adjustments if they are not," the New York senator said. "And we should start by doing that with NAFTA."

At last there are bits of good things among the bad when it comes to Hillary...

Hi Kizzume.

I agree. what we seem to be getting it bit's and pieces from each candidate. They are still generalizing so it's hard to pinpoint exactly what their complete objective is. If we could throw them all into one box, shake the hell out of it, and dump out one good politician out of the whole mess, we as voters might have a better understanding about what to expect.

She probably did. She probably thought it was a good idea at the time, but it was not, and MAYBE she realizes that--OR she's just giving lip service to get votes.

True that, but I would like for her to say that the idea sucked. But she will not, she is a consummate politician. This is why I do not have much use for them. I want someone who will smell crap and say it.
