France Courts North Africa

Postby CHUQ on Sun Oct 21, 2007 4:11 am

Sarkozy is attempting to help the Western Sahara situation.

In his official visit to Morocco next week week, the French President Nicolas Sarkozy can achieve a breakthrough in shaking up the Sahara conflict, which was not possible for his predecessor, Jacques Chirac. Whereas Chirac relied upon using the card of French influence in North Africa to extract American invoices in the Middle East, the Gulf, and regions of tension on Africa, his successor has shortened the road to Washington on the basis of the belief that all interests lead to America, and that being its friend is better than being its adversary.

That shouldn't take much. Jacques Chirac was gutless.

It's impossible to be an effective leader of a country when everyone thinks you are stupid.
