Reputation System

Postby Coyote on Sun Jul 15, 2007 4:49 pm

I've seen this at other forums and I always thought it would be fun to have. Now we do. On every post underneath the poster's avatar and post count is a +/- button. Clicking on that will allow you to give positive or negative reputation for each post. It will send a PM to the member notifying them that they have received (or lost) reputation points. You may include comments when you give reputation. If you include a comment, it will be visible to anyone who clicks on that poster's reputation stats. Each time you give positive reputation, you will lose one point and the person you give it to will gain 1 point. You will gain a little bit though, for giving. If you give negative reputation, you both lose 1 rep point. There is a multiplier involved, so people with higher reputation points will be able to give (and subtract) more reputation points than those with lower reps.

Rep points are based on how long you've been a member, how many posts you've made, and how many reputation points you've received from other users.

To see a poster's reputation details, click on the link that shows how many votes they have.

This will give you a popup window showing you who gave reputation to that poster and for which post(s).
