US To Attack Iran In 6 Months

Iraq and Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Pakistan and more.

With the latest report on Iran, Bush's push to attack Tehran has been given a major setback. So maybe he can turn his attention to Mexico? It is closer and would be cheaper to occupy.

THe Bush Admin is just flippin' amazing.

President Bush refused to rule out a military strike against Iran Tuesday, though he confirmed the latest National Intelligence Estimate showed the Islamic state had halted a weapons program.

"Iran was dangerous, Iran is dangerous, and Iran will be dangerous if they have the knowledge to make a nuclear weapon," he

This is the text of what the Pres said at the news conference y/day. Just I case you want to see it word for word.

THE PRESIDENT: Good morning. I appreciate the fact that the United States Senate is going to take up the free trade agreement with Peru today. This agreement will level the playing field for American goods and services. It will create new opportunities for investment. It will strengthen our friendship with a fellow democracy. The House of Representatives has passed this bill; I congratulate the House leadership. And I certainly hope the Senate will pass it, as well. This will be a very positive step.

But Congress still has a lot to do, and doesn't have very much time to do it. Three weeks from today Americans will celebrate Christmas, and three groups of Americans are waiting on Congress to act. The first group are the troops. Our troops are waiting on Congress to fund them in their operations overseas. Nearly 10 months ago, I submitted a detailed funding request. Congress has not acted. Our men and women shouldn't have to wait any longer.

The conspiracy theory that Bush wants to invade Iran is just plain ridiculous.

If the latest NIE is accurate, then Bush should be applauded for stopping the nuclear weapon search without firing a shot.

Bolton is a jerk and the admin is using him as the attack pig.

Yesterday’s National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) concluded that Iran halted its nuclear weapons program in 2003, pouring cold water on neoconservative calls for bombing Iran. Like his ideological kin Norman Podhoretz, former U.N. ambassador and Iran war hawk John Bolton has been attempting to slander the U.S. intelligence community’s collective judgments.

The day bush leaves the WH will be a day of euphoria. He has made his buddies rich, gutted the Constitution, and is leaving the US as one of the most mistrusted nations in the world.

It will take generations before our moral standing in the world is returned. The next President will have a huge reparation project.

True that and the next president should not be someone that is business as usual . And the frontrunners are pretty much that.

Let me see if I have this right....they missed 9/11, they lied about wmd in Iraq, they lied about Iran and nukes and now that want nme to believe this crap.

WASHINGTON - The White House sought Thursday to clarify remarks on the new intelligence report on Iran by President Bush that have been called into question.

At a news conference on Tuesday, Bush said he was told in August by Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell that "we have some new information" that would delay a new assessment of Iran's nuclear activities by the U.S. intelligence community.

"He didn't tell me what the information was; he did tell me it was going to take a while to analyze," Bush said then. The president added that "nobody ever told me" that he should back down on heated rhetoric about Iran as a result of the potential new findings.

The Intel sector does not seem to doubt the validity of the NIE.

WASHINGTON — A senior U.S. intelligence official on Thursday defended a new intelligence report that Iran had halted its nuclear weapons program in 2003 as "one of the most well-sourced" assessments ever produced, even as critics charged that it was rife with flaws.

Donald Kerr, the deputy director of national intelligence, made the statement in congressional testimony as the White House sought to explain whether President Bush knew what was in the report when he warned in October that Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons could trigger World War III.

White House spokeswoman Dana Perino acknowledged that the president "could have been more precise" when he told a press conference on Tuesday that he first learned of the report's findings last week.

I sure hope they are right this time and Iran has halted their program. This President and the next need to keep the pressure on Iran though - as the N. Korea lesson has taught us.

This is good news - why all the doom and gloom?

I agree it is excellent news. My prob is that they were LYING for several months to the American people, even to the point of bringing up a WWIII. The Intel was always given to the WH, they chose to ignore it to further their agenda, until it came out publicly. No one who question the fact that it is excellent news, but rather who knew what and when.

They weren't lying.

What do you think they were lying about and what's the motive?

In fact many lefties thought they weren't working on a bomb at all. The NIE says that they were. Do you believe that? That validates Bush Cheney - we told you so.

The NIE confirms that they were seeking a nuclear weapon - just because we think it has been suspended (eg: North Korea) does not mean that their enriching enough uranium for a bomb in a few years becomes any less dangerous.

If Bush got wind that maybe they suspended the program a few months ago - and kept the pressure on Iran - I applaud him for it.
