Health Care Reform

Postby CHUQ on Mon Dec 10, 2007 4:14 am

Reforms are only temporary and can be eliminated at any time. we need something else.

Presidential candidates from both parties are barking up the wrong tree when they suggest we can reform the nation's health system by increasing the number of Americans with insurance.

They seem to equate an insured population with a healthy one that receives good and appropriate medical care when it is needed.

That ain't necessarily so.

Try getting decent mental health care with most insurance plans.... not going to happen. Take these drugs and move along.....

I think they are all just giving it lip service myself. They can preach all they want about affordable health care but there are just too many folks out there that don't have the means to get insurance period. I think any affordable plan will be geared more towards the middle income folks, and the folks living below the poverty level will still go without.

Any body that is calling for reforms is just putting a band-aid on that gunshot wound. The prob with reforms is that they are usually a temporary fix, are easily manipulated and do not usually solve the problem.

I think they are afraid of business. Business is getting rid of health care and the government won't tell them to offer it and won't tell the healthcare industry to quit charging so much
I don't think you accomplish alot yelling. Anyway, I don't think my dad did. I like talking. Just plain talk.

Special interests are driving the high cost of health care. IMO. We are paying way too much for the services we are recieving. We aren't getting much bang for our buck. Anyone who thinks the U.S. has the finest health care system in the world is very dilusional.

Numerous things can be done in order to cut health care cost but haven't.

One thing's for sure...making it a social program, managed by the federal govt., would be a huge mistake. I don't like the idea of being taxed 40%-50% of your income. Plus, it's important to remember our federal govt. manages large programs poorly.

I say, do what addresses the high cost first, at least.
