Which Democrat Is Electable?

Postby CHUQ on Sat Jan 19, 2008 3:54 am

Pretty good analysis.

In Iowa, Democrats said they thought Hillary Clinton was more likely to win the White House, but more of them voted for Barack Obama.

In New Hampshire, the exact opposite occurred – Democrats said Mr. Obama was more likely to prevail, but Mrs. Clinton won the primary.

Similar ambivalence is evident nationally. In post-New Hampshire polls, Mrs. Clinton has an advantage on electability. But that margin is shrinking, and surveys show that Mr. Obama fares better head-to-head against some Republicans.

I don't see surveys much different than polls really. Voters seem to be throwing a monkey wrench into predictions and forecasts.

Republicans (myself included) are more concerned about running against Obama than Hillary. Obama will bring so many new voters out - mostly young voters who vote democrat anyway. Hillary can't do that.

I swear on the bible that this is true: There is a 70 - 80% chance that I could vote Obama in the general election (depending on who we put up). If its Romney, 100% for Obama.

Of course there is ZERO chance I would vote for Hillary.

I wouldn't expect many Republicans would vote for Clinton.

If Hillary can rally the woman vote she will be hard to beat. Obama might appeal to young people but that won't do much good if they don't turn out to vote, which they have failed to do in past elections.

Bill doesn't seem to be hurting her any so far. He may be even taking some of the heat off her.

You've just gotta find that tint feature, you know, the one next to color and vertical hold? Wait, maybe you need to change a tube. Try checking the tubes at your local radio shack. lol

You used the wrong kind of knot when you tied them.

Ok, I'll stop being silly now and go back to bed for a couple hours. I woke up suddenly and wasn't able to sleep, but I think I can again....

But I still have a feeling that Hillary will be the one.

I'm not fond of any of the front-runners, but looking at the race logically I think Obama is the most electable. Hillary's far too polarizing and Edwards has already been smeared to the point of unelectability.

We can only hope. Obama's all we've got left, as far as having someone both electable AND at least halfway worth while. :(
