We are talking about Switzerland? I never thought I would see this type of progress in the country.

GENEVA, Oct. 21 — After a campaign widely criticized as racist, Switzerland’s far-right Swiss People’s Party strengthened its position as the biggest single party in Parliament in a general election on Sunday, according to a projection after voting ended.

The party appeared set to win 29 percent of the vote and gain 7 parliamentary seats, for 62 seats in the 200-seat federal Parliament, after campaigning aggressively on an anti-immigrant ticket that featured posters showing white sheep kicking a black sheep away from a Swiss flag. “It’s the party’s best score since 1919,” said Yvan Perrin, a party member in Parliament.

The largest party on the left, the Social Democratic Party, was projected to win 19.

Interesting. I'm not sure what to make of it yet though.

Okay--I re-type my original response--luckily I hadn't typed much. I'm getting really frustrated with this forum....

I am also going to have to wait to see how this transpires. I don't really know how I feel about it right now.

There were protests a bout a week before the election where leftist were accused of attacking a meeting of the SPP, the ultra-Right.

The wait to see how it transpires was on the actual subject.

As far as the posting frustration--it lasted for two posts and disappeared, never happened again.
