Now what will the Bush admin do? thoughts?

TEHRAN -- After years of delay, Russia announced Monday that it had delivered its first shipment of nuclear fuel to a reactor in southern Iran, a move Washington had long tried to delay to pressure Tehran not to pursue its own enrichment program.

Delivery of the nuclear fuel rods will ensure that the $1-billion power plant being built by Russia's state-owned Atomstroyexport in the port city of Bushehr will be up and running by next year, Gholamreza Aghazadeh, chief of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, told state television.

This just takes us one step closer to an air attack from Israel. IMO.

Iran could sell the DU to the US so that we could make weapons out of it for them.

I can't help but wonder if Iran doesn't already have some sort of nuclear weapon. We managed to slip them to Israel. Who's to say Russia hasn't done the same with Iran?

The 4th shipment has arrived.

A fourth Russian shipment of nuclear fuel arrived in Iran Sunday, destined for a power plant being constructed in the southern Iranian port of Bushehr, the official Islamic Republic News Agency reported. The report said 11 tons of fuel arrived at the Bushehr power plant, just two days after Iran received its third Russian shipment on Friday.

Russia has reportedly pledged to give Iran a total of 85 tons of fuel for the plant.

The remainder of the fuel, about 40 tons, was scheduled to arrive in four separate shipments in the coming months, the report said.

Yep. Russia is successfully pushing the US and the end result will be another massive Cold war, if something is not done to stop the madness.

True, but what can be done? Is there anything? It seems the only things we could do could make the situation even more volatile.

I do not see anyway to avoid it. Globalization is feeding this fire and as long as that conti nues, this situation will only get worse.

From reading the headlines the last couple of days I'd say the sanctions are causing a lot of unreast in Iran. People there aren't happy campers with their economy and gas shortages.

But will it translate into action by the Iranians against the power elite?

Not so much in the short term, but the Iranians aren't happy with their economic situation. Perhaps in a few years, but I think the sanctions are having an impact of hitting their wallets. That's their weak spot. IMO.
