I saw this vid a few days ago.....he can apologize all he wants...but I would sue the tin off his badge.

N) -- The Hillsborough County, Florida, sheriff on Wednesday offered a personal apology to a disabled man who was dumped onto the floor from his wheelchair while in deputies' custody.

Brian Sterner has been using a wheelchair since a 1994 wrestling accident.

"I am personally embarrassed and shocked by the horrific treatment Mr. Sterner received," Sheriff David Gee says in a statement on the department's Web site.

A video now making the rounds on television networks and various Web sites shows a deputy tipping Brian Sterner, 32, out of a wheelchair January at the county's booking center in Tampa on January 29.

That's pretty sad to do that to a handicapped person and then think an apology will fix the problem. I hope the sue the pants off everyone involved.

From reading the news article, Sterner's lawyer said that Sterner had no plans at this time to sue the police department though. From the sounds of it, they're waiting for Gee to carry through with his promise to 'make things right'.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

I am not a big fan of stupid law suits, but this one is pathetic and should be pursued.

I don't approve of frivilous lawsuits myself, and agree with you that what was done here though deserves more then a 'thank you' and handshake.

But in the end, it's up to the guy whether or not he wishes to do so. I doubt this is the last we've heard of it.

i think The Dumper should have to spend LOTS of time in a hospital paraplegic ward turning patients to prevent bedsores---she has a proclivity, and apparently, imaginative methods---she just made the wrong career move!
