The New York Times story about Sen. John McCain merely represents the Republican problem this year....the real meat of this story is what is going to make Republicans very scarce in Washington DC after Nov/2008...........Republican hypocricy! Another Republican President/Congressman/Senator saying (in fact building his career on) one thing & then being caught doing exactly the reverse, in real life. From George Bush's "Compassionate Conservative" who vetos health care for US children to fund his war to Sen Larrry Craig builds a career against gay rights but turns out to be a screaming *** picking up gays in mens rooms & now McCain, who has always stood against influence peddlers flying around the country in their private jet & probably (not proven yet but, let's be adults here) making decisions in favor of a company who he is busy screwing their 40 years younger, sexy female lobbyist! In November the American people will say this to all Republicans........Get the hell out of my Congress & White House!!

I have written about this on Daily Kos....personally, I do not care who he is poking. The only part is if he actually used his position to help her achieve some form of legislation. My point is in the past debates mcCain accused Romney of being a flip fop on some issues. McCain was a staunch opponent of torture and just recently he suggested to Bush that he veto a measure to ban torture. He is flipping, something he has said is unacceptable.

I agree that both parties are pretty screwed up. What I don't get is how the Republicans crucified Clinton for screwing around and how they will now rally around McCain. Hypocrisy drives me nuts!

I hear ya. I like the fact the Republicans are screwing up. It certainally brings then down a notch. They are like little kids. If they can't win, they don't want to play.

Look how many of them aren't running for re-election next term. They know they are major screwups so instead of facing up to their mistakes they chose to run and hide. I think they are spineless myself.

I also want to say I hate GWB I think he is a disgrace to our country as well as the republican party for putting him up to run in 2000

Honestly, it's kind of hard to separate how people feel about republicans and McCain / GWB --- aren't they both supposed to make their pappies proud?
